why x99? go z97 and get 2 980s.

32 gb ram? rly? get 16 gb

so much wasted on a monitor

Try and find a store that does 24 month interest free 'deferred' credit. Don't spend $4K on a Credit Card unless you can pay it all off when the bill arrives otherwise this could turn out to be a very very expensive pc.

That's a good idea, after going back and forth numerous times about should I SLI or not SLI, finally decided not to SLI. I picked 32gb for the video editing, do you think I won't see much improvement over 16gb for that purpose?  I agree the monitor is too expensive, so is everything on this build but I'm going for it.

op stated that he was going to go all out and build a monster and so i gotta say this doesn't sound ridiculous given that frame of reference

op you are right the 32gb will help and the monitor while good for gaming i would go with a different one like the pb278q which will be great for video editing, 2k res and half the cost of the ROG. unless you are a pro gamer the rog 144hz 1ms response is unecessary. Unless its your dream monitor then by all means go for it. Its your dream build go nuts with it :)
