Netgear or Cisco routers <50$!

ANUPLUCIFERGAMER

Hey Guys! So currently I have a super cheap D-Link 2750u router running in my house and it's fuckin slow. The build quality may be good, but it overheats sometimes and it just stops working randomly. This is my second router from D-Link and now I have my decision made that I'm not going to buy another D-Link.

So right now i'm looking into Cisco or Netgear.

Whichever's cheap and has ONE USB port, 4 LAN Ports, WiFi enabled (Would love dual antennas).ADSL2+ would be good too. (if there's any ;))

That's probably it. I'd mostly have it running at least 12 hours a day, so overheating might be an issue you need to check. I have 50$ to spend!

Thanks :)

Cisco isn't that great tbh, they're less prone to dropouts due to heat compared to D-Link but it still happens.

Netgear has been good for me, never a dropout due to thermals, had to reset it for misc issues maybe three times in two years. I had one of their routers crap out but turns out it had a lifetime warranty and Netgear was happy to RMA it.

However I've never had one issue with Asus routers, so they are what I would recommend. Check out the RT-N12. If you are sticking with Netgear then the WNDR2000 seems like a good choice.

Not too many routers in this price range will have a USB port though

I like this one cause it's pretty http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122471

But assuming you actually care more about performance then aesthetics I'd go for this one. Has all the features you're looking for, and is dual-band as well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704150
