Hey MrSushi,

I would check out WD Black drives. I would recommend WD Blue, but they come with up to 1TB in size.
WD Black drives are performance-oriented, have great, long warranty and work fast. They should be great for your needs. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=WptG3u :)
Generally, most HDD would suit your needs, as long as they can take the workload that you will be pushing towards them.

In that case, as @Chiobe mentioned, WD AV is also a good option. It is designed for video streaming and recording and as such (like WD Purple) it has optimized sequential reed/write speeds while the random ones are a bit lower.

I would also suggest checking out WD Red and WD Green as 2TB alternatives. They should work for what you need. Both have Intellipower and adjust their rpm according to the load that is put on the drive. They are energy-efficient, quiet and cool drives. WD Red is designed for NAS/RAID environments and WD Green - for secondary storage.

You could always use two 1TB WD Blue drives. :)

You can try out "WD AV", its sort of a cheaper version of black.

But it still designed for 24/7 usage and has decent speed.
