What raid shall I use in my server?

Hey guys I've got a Synology NAS and I've got one 1TB and one 160GB hardrive, I'd like to put them in a raid to improve performance/speed but I don't know much about raid. Could you guys please help me out? Thanks. :)

The only way to set up RAID in this system would be to give the 1TB drive, a 160GB partition then RAID the "2" 160GB drives, you can't RAID different size drives

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

There is no point, you would be restricted to 160gb if using RAID 0 for better speed since RAID is restricted to the smallest drive size

ideally you want another 1tb drive, and use either RAID 1, for a mirrored copy, or RAID 0 for more speed

Thanks, I thought it worked like both of the storage on the drives add up if you get what I mean haha but I know very little about raids, I would be better off getting another 1TB drive, thanks.

I would suggest reading up on RAID, its not something to just randomly decide :)
