Audio-Technica ATR2500 vs Blue Yeti

Teslamonger

The title is self explanatory. I'm considering buying either the Audio-Technica ATR2500-USB or the Blue Yeti, and unsure which one of the two to pick. The usage will primarily be for commentary. Suggestions for other microphones around the same price range (<$100) are also openly accepted.

I have a Blue Yeti, it works amazingly well. You might also want to look up for the AT2020 which is 75$ on massdrop for the XLR version unless you really need a USB one.

I use the Blue Yeti, but I needed it for the various settings as well (omni/stereo/cardioid). And I got a deal on it.

The AT2020 admittedly trumps the Blue Yeti in quality, but only comes as a cardioid microphone (which is ideal for voice-overs, commentating, standard Skype/TS use)

I've personally never used the ATR2500, but I have heard good things of it.

I recommend you look up audio samples, and take note of the studio they're in. (ie: environment, size, background sound-makers)

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

I can't find any side-by-side audio comparisons. I did find a YouTube video with the ATR2500, but I don't have any way of determining his setup (for example, if it was a sound booth or just a regular house with several people inside).
