What PSU for this particular (old) setup

Hierofantus

Hi everyone!

I know there are probably topics with informations on this but im kinda in a trauma because my PSU is roasted and i'm not sure if CPU or GPU are intact. I'll probably know this a bit later today but since i'm sure my old noname PSU i dead i need to get a new one. Now the tricky part is that my setup is archaic and likes more juice. I've got an i7 930 and a GTX 480, about 5 fans and 1 ssd. The thing is I don't really know how strong the PSU should be. I was going for an 850 watt one but i was wondering if a 750 watt one would do fine. I decided already on the brand which is corsair (i like the 5 years warranty on it) but i'm open to suggestions.

Could anyone tell me if this http://www.corsair.com/en-ca/rm-series-rm850-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply or this http://www.corsair.com/en-ca/rm-series-rm750-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply will be enough to support the system?

Also if you can could you give me some insight as to why you vote for the 750 or the 850 version.

I was trying to simply add the watt usage of each component but while I was googling i stumbled uppon information that the GTX 480 can sometimes eat more then the 250 watts it normaly does.

Again sorry for not searching for the answer myself but in this particular situation I need some time to mourne...

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions and sorry for my english.

I'd go for a CX600M instead. 600W is more than enough for your setup.
