I need two DisplayPort 1.2 ports from one GTX 780 Ti - Can it be done?

Hello, I have a question regarding DisplayPort 1.2.

 

From one GTX 780 Ti (which has a Dual Link DVI-I, Dual Link DVI-D, HDMI & a DisplayPort) http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-780-ti/specifications

 

Can I connect it to two monitors that require DisplayPort 1.2, or would I need two GTX 780 Ti's?

 

I wish to run it on the "PG278Q" of 2560 x 1440 at 144Hz, as well as the "PB287Q" of 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (it doesn't seem to say "DisplayPort 1.2" on the spec page).

 

Is it possible?

 

In short, I need; 2560x1440@144Hz & 3840x2160@60Hz with just a 'Dual Link DVI-I', 'Dual Link DVI-D', 'HDMI' & 'DisplayPort'.

 

Any help is appreciated.

 

Disclaimer: I'm not using both of them for gaming concurrently; games would be played on either at any one time.

If you installed a second 780Ti the ports on the second card are disabled, this remains true for every additional GPU added to the system.

 

DisplayPort 1.2 supports daisy-chaining which allows mutiple independent monitors to be run off of one port. However, the splitter is quite pricey.

Daisy chain is an option, but you'd still be bottlenecked by the DP 1.2's bandwith

But I'm not getting anything relating to resolution specifically.

Well, if I buy one of the monitors after the other, I'll set money aside for the splitter.

It CAN be done, but I wouldn't recommend it. You would still have to run one of them at 30hz or something (not ideal)

Wow, I didn't know that. I need to rethink a lot of what I'd planned.

 

How did people experiment with three 4K displays?
