yh

Is the drive getting power?

What motherboard do you have?

Can you try booting to that hard drive from the bios? I know it will show up with a empty hard drive thing, but just wondering if you can?

Go to control panel, Administrative tools, computer management, under storage: click disc management, then go down in the list find the HDD and right click and new volume on it.

Basically have a look at this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMo8krAJd5Q I think that's what you are trying to do.

Great, so your computer recognizes it. Just assign it a drive letter so you can use it.

I can't :(

Go to advanced mode and go to hard drive and take a picture of the HDD settings you have going on from the BIOS.

Also if you are already in windows, before you do this, can you please go to run: and type mdsched and click on restart now and check for problems.

You know the first picture of the bios, can you turn hot plug on? And then boot, and see if disc management picks it up?

Also do you have any old windows installation dvd's or anything? Can be anything dating back to xp?
