usb constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.

My generic USB 3 thumb drive while plugged into my custom PC will connect then disconnect a few seconds later. This is done constantly and i cant use the drive. Meanwhile it works on my mac (laptop) no problem. I formatted it to work with PC also to no avail (that whole FAT format). Also i found this tiny USB 2.0 128 mb thumb drive and that works fine on my PC and mac (yes 128mb). How to fix. Thx

one of the usb 3 only pins may be damaged on your PC. try another usb 3 device or port

Ive tried all the 3 ports and my usb 2 ports

There may be a driver problem with your USB3 drive and the PC

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

 

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

I would try it on somebody else's PC, possibly with a different version of Windows, and see if the problem still occurs

Alright ill try it soon on a vista machine at my friends tomo.

I tried it on a vista pc and it worked completely fine
