What 290 to get?

So im looking at this card - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-TRI-X-Graphics-Card-PCI-E/dp/B00HFA44YQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409654507&sr=8-1&keywords=r9+290

its only 280 pounds

but i look at this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-290-Vapor-X-Graphic-Card/dp/B00I940L6C/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1409654700&sr=8-9&keywords=r9+290

its nearly a 100 pounds more!

Whats the difference? Will the first one be very hot or something?

Not much difference really. The Vapor-X is only a slightly better cooler (by ~5c), and is the one to go for if you wanna OC on air. Get the cheaper model.

And no it will not be "very hot" - the cooler is far superior to the reference design and will cool it perfectly fine, unless your rig is sat in a boiler room.

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

The main difference is that the vapor-x has cooling on the VRMs. So if you are over-volting and over-clocking it will be much easier to keep the VRM temperatures down.

Apart from that both will run fine at stock, and neither of them will throttle. So both are faster than the reference 290.

Both cards are fine, not much of a diffrence in terms of performance.

The vapor X has a better cooler and custom pcb. It cooles arround 5C better then the TriX

The triX is the stock reference pcb. But the triX cooler it self is realy decent.

I personaly dont think its worth to spend the extra money on the VaporX.

It cooles better, and its slightly faster, but not worth the money over the tri X.

Guys what about this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/GIGABYTE-WINDFORCE-Graphics-Card-GDDR5/dp/B00HS84DFU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409654853&sr=8-1&keywords=r9+290+windforce

THe windforce is also a good card.

Its arround the same as the TriX.

Only the cooler makes more noise, because the fans of the windforce ramp up to 80%, instead of only 46% or so on the TriX.

The Vapour-X variant is available at OCUK for £320, so only a £40 premium.

Just get the Tri-x though, it's really good and great value.
