Micro ATX build for a friend

Tazman192

Hey.

My friend's trying to get a micro atx build going together. He's not adding in a graphics card just yet, but is looking for a intel i5 4670k, 8gb ram and a 256gb ssd as standard. Everything else in his plan is subject to change. He'll just be doing casual gaming, so will probably pick up a 270x at some point, but not right now.

This is his build so far, thoughts?

I've suggested he go for a hyper 212 evo instead of the stock cooler, and I'm not too familiar with that board as I haven't looked into micro atx boards.

He would like to keep it around £500 but I'm sure he can go a bit over.

Why is he going with an i5 for a build in that price range?

Here's a Micro ATX build for the price which'll be a great gamer:

Overclock the Pentium, and boom! Also, later he can upgrade to an i5/i7 if he wishes.

That board has some good reviews but the colour theme is not that attractive. Alternatively you could go for this board: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z97mplus

Everything else seems fine.

This board I know about and it also gets some good reviews, I'll make the suggestion to him, cheers for the help.

i like this build, like someone above me said, the mobo isnt exactly the most ideal color so if you want, go for something a bit nicer (color wise) and if not then thats aight too but if im right, thats a z87 so youll need to manually update the bios as well.
