GPU compatible with PC?

I was looking to buy an R9 270 from my friend for a low price and was wondering if it will work with my PC, and if it does, if it will damage the GPU.

I am definitely building a new PC in a few months but want to see if I can use it with my existing one at the moment, I don't care about damaging my current one as it's crap. I'm just worried about the card.

I know it will bottleneck A LOT but I don't care as its not my daily driver.

SPECS:

Intel core 2 duo e4500

- Asus P5BSE

- 4gb 1066 ram

- 200gb HDD

- 300W PSU

thanks for the help in advance (:

270 uses ~200W. CPU has a 65W TDP. Yeah, you'll need more than 300W. And there aren't very many good sub-400W power supplies, so I would bet it's garbage anyway.

The HD7750 or a t50ti should do fine.

Although I have a core 2 duo e7500 annd it feels like the hd7750 is being bottlenecked.
