They aren't a bad company, I just don't have a reason to use their products. They are irrelevant to me. There is demand for their products though.

Generally their laptops are not that reliable, i mean the laptop you posted has a 1 star review. My brother also has an envy and i really don't find it a good laptop. But it is not a bad company and they do have some great products.

Main PC:

ASUS F1A55-M LX, AMD A6-3500, (2x2)gb Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 1600mhz, Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm,

Netbook:

Lenovo Ideapad S10-2, Intel Atom N280, (1x1)gb DDR2 667mhz, WD Scorpio Blue 250gb 5400rpm, Zorin OS 9 Lite

nope asking

OK well genuine question gets a genuine answer...

Short answer - no. Their products are generally a pain in the arse to repair, price on replacement parts are ridiculously high and while the system has a nice finish and build quality, they seem to overheat a lot.

Personally, I've had bad experiences with HP laptops, but that's only because I've had to repair them because my friends get a gazillion viruses on them. I don't think their build quality for their laptops are very solid, but the company is fine.

I don't think they are a bad company.

I just think their computers are crap.  My HP desktop died 3 times( I kept reviving it with new parts). My friends laptop stopped working one day it was an HP laptop, then one other friend has been through 2 laptops in just 3 years and he always has problems with his systems and he has bought.....HP Laptops.

But they do make very good printers, I love their printers, just not their computers.

My Gaming Bio thingy?  Anyhow I love co-op gaming so add me.   :) Skype/Origin/Uplay/Steam/Other -> "GuestForeverX"

They're not a bad company. I don't prefer their desktop machines.

I actually prefer to use their line of business notebooks. I've owned 3 hp notebooks, and the warranty repair is amazing. On my college notebook I got the 4yr extended warranty. After 2 years my battery died, called up HP gave them my laptops serial# and they overnighted me a brand new battery. Fast forward another year and I tripped going up a BIG flight of concrete stairs while carrying my laptop. The laptop tumbled and rolled and shattered into pieces on the way down. Called up the warranty repair line again, explained what happened, and they overnighted me an empty box with pre-paid shipping back to HP. They examined my laptop for a week and deemed my laptop irreparable. Since they no longer made the model I sent in for repair, they overnighted me a refurbished BETTER model. My old laptop was a 13" 2ghz dual core c2d with 4gb of ram and a 250gb HD. They sent me a 15" 2.7ghz core i7 w/ 8gb of ram.

I could go on and on, but that experience is why I only purchase hp brand laptops, they took great care of me.

Their business laptops are nice, the consumer versions are a bit more flashy and not as sturdy. But I still like them all nonetheless

My Probook 4530s(and people said their pro laptops weren't as bad as their consumer laptops) cooling fan started making a really loud buzzing noise after only one year. I tried to repair it, but HP makes their laptops so hard to repair.

Maybe i have had bad luck with their printers but they don't seem to last over 1-2 years, they are really good but they don't last for that long, we decided to switch to Canon and i like it a lot more.

I have had bad experiences with HP. My next laptop will probably be an Acer.

I do agree that their printers are better than their computers

HP laptops are the worst. I work as a part time technician and we get like ~12 HP laptops per week. Compared to other laptops Asus (2 per month), Toshiba (6 per week), Dell (3 per week) and other brands (1 per week). Most of the HP's we get need GPU reflows :|

The company is bad. The link provided just shows how bad geek squad is, not HP.

HP's products and services are probably fine, but their organization is terrible.

Everything I've owned from HP has died/had large issues in some way with the exception of my business class laptop. This includes 2 laptops and 2 printers.

Normandy - Intel Core i5 3470, 8 GB Corsair Vengenace LP, EVGA GTX 960 SSC, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, WD Blue 1 TB, Seagate 320 GB (steam), Seagate 320 GB (experimental, second OS, etc), Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 14.10

Garrus - HP Stream 11

I currently have an hp laptop that is pretty much fine. It simply came with a decent amount of bloatware and the main exhaust fan never quite worked properly. It isn't broken but it doesn't produce the kind of airflow that is necessary to keep the computer as cool as it can be. Other than the fan though it is actually quite good. Nice build quality and it has lasted several drops. I wouldn't recommend it but I wouldn't argue against it either.

Something, something, something, famous quote, computer specs, and stuff...

hmm I picked a used one up from a thrift store for a really good price and I have had it about 2 years now with no problems, and was even able to hook it up to my Asus Router.

If I was going to buy a laptop I have to say it would be from ASUS or Apple.
