Recommendations for a budget DSLR under £100 ( $168.25 USD )

So recently i got really into taking pictures with my nexus 5 ( not the best thing to take pictures with) and i was starting to get frustrated with the lack of control i had with it mainly not having optical zoom. so i ask for suggestions for a decent DSLR body for around  £100 ( $168.25 USD ) preferably canon since my dad has quite a few lenses that i can "borrow". Any suggestions would be appreciated.

a grip is something you'll want if your doing insane video shoots/weddings that bang on about commitment for as long as the average marriage lasts...

No. No need for battery grip.

Try finding cheap and second-hand DSLRs from sites like ebay or something similar. Don't know about ebay, but I got lucky at finding a second-hand 1000D (Rebel XS) for around 112€, even though here those are commonly found for around 140€ - 180€ with or without kit lens.

For under 100£, as far as your wish for Canon DSLRs go, you could get maybe a 20D/30D/400D and bellow, or if lucky, a 450D. Some might include a lens (kit lens if any) or no lens at all.

One past experience on shopping for second-hand DSLRs: I missed a damn good deal on a Nikon D3100 for 140€ with a kit lens with shutter count less than 400. Needless to say I was a bit pissed off for not having enough money back then. This is to prove that there CAN be good deals like these, but they're rare to find.

EDIT:

Newer models are usually better in terms of image quality, but two-digit models (20D, 30D etc.) are usually more rugged and have faster burst rate. My advice: go for newer.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

i get what your trying to say id rather go for newer since it would mean decreased chance of failure but i quite like the 5 Fps burst rate
