whats a good civ for a science victory in civ 5

I always play Japan and always win a science victory.

On which difficulty level are you playing?

If you can get ahead pretty much all types of victory are possible/easy.

For science victory I feel that you just need Rationalism. Science is really important and you should never fall too much behind, so it's easy to focus everything on science in the late game and win.

An easy way would be an archipelago map (so that you can "ignore" military) with Indonisia/Polynesia or any civ mentioned above.
