looking for bluetooth wireless keyboard

Go to solution Solved by ygohome,

Nevermind. After searching we couldn't find anything meeting all the requirements. Most bt keyboards are targeted towards tablets and are missing the keys he requires.

Now we are looking at wired mechanical kb. Keycool 84 brown with o-rings might fit the bill.

My dad is asking me to find him a wireless keyboard to replace his current Logitech K800.  This is for his laptop which is always closed and connected to an external display.

keyboard requirements:

- PrtScn, Home, End, Pgup, Pgdn, Delete, Insert   *dedicated keys or without having to press a FN key combo

- LED indicator for CAPS LOCK

- Backlit

preferred but not required:

- dedicated volume control/mute buttons

- TKL

- Bluetooth rather than 2.4Ghz USB unless it is a Logitech keyboard.    The reason is that he uses a 2.4Ghz Logitech mouse, which he loves. I don't want to make him plug in a 2nd USB receiver just to use another brand 2.4Ghz keyboard.

Budget is about $80 USD

He currently has a Logitech K800.  But he says it is a little mushy and the Caps Lock LED indicator cannot be seen unless looking straight down on it from above.  I've confirmed this to be true.  He often uses the Caps Lock key while programming to capitalize keywords, etc., and it is frustrating to retype if it is accidentally left on/off.

He liked using my Apple bluetooth keyboard for the few days I loaned it to him.  He said he liked the size and feel of that Apple keyboard.  But it was missing all of the required keys listed above.

I would love to get him a nice TKL Ducky, Filco, etc.  But they are like $130+shipping USD and he is asking for wireless.  But if there is only crap wireless KBs then I may just get him a nice wired mechanical and cover the difference.

Please help suggest a good keyboard or convince me to get him the wired mechanical :)

thanks

*EDIT:  changed post to make Backlit LED a requirement.  I just spoke to him and he likes that feature alot.
