What upgrades?

So this is my setup right now:

Card: gtx 1050 ti

CPU: AMD 6300 six-core processor 3.5 ghz

RAM: 8gb

Mobo: idk the mother board all i know is that its some ddr3 garbage

I dont know very much about computers (why im here) but i need some help on what upgrades to get next i would like to get an ssd and better cpu i just dont know what cpu and i am aware that i will have to upgrade my mother board to ddr4 i have a budget of around 500, thank you

Hello friend! I think your best bet is a ryzen 5 2600 cpu, with a b450 motherboard. You can get away with 8gb of (ddr4) ram, but if you decide to do that, make sure you get a 1x8 stick so you can add in another later on. I've seen some really good deals on a 500gb Samsung 860 evo floating around, I'd grab one of those too. Hope this helps!

Like what the other guys said, I recommend ryzen 5 2600. Check their lists on pscpartpicker and mix and match. This is what I made for your use case

 you can get cheaper value if you downgrade the motherboard to fit your budget more.

I think sjb has the right idea! As opposed to them, I didn't go with as much ram or as much ssd storage, but that's really up to you and your budget. The one thing I will say is depending on how much you'd like to over clock, you might not need a board as expensive as the tomahawk, you can get perfectly good ones for 70-80 bucks.
