Building a new system

GotEm

So I'm planing on building a system like this and i would like some input like should I get the dark rock 4 or the pro one. Is the power supply to overkill or is it good, I might want to overclock in the future so i want to have a good enough power supply and cooler if i do overclock. Also i'm not to sure on the motherboard, i'm trying to build a build that will cover me for the future. Thanks for any input.

This is my system

I'm building this PC for gaming and I the resolution is going to be 1920 by 1080 and the refresh rate maybe 144 or 120. My budget is $3000

Make sure you quote or mention people when replying @GotEm, otherwise we don't get a notification.

This is way overkill for your needs, and I even trimmed the cost down a couple hundred. I wouldn't recommend the 9700K unless it's within about $20 of the 8700K. There's very little difference between them at all.

If you want to save significantly more money, I would go for something like this

This is still super overkill for 1080p gaming, but it saves you a bunch of money and will be a great system for years to come. You can change out pieces like the case if you want something else or something less expensive. You can also add more storage if you want that as well. Bigger SSD if you want. You won't really notice a difference between a 2.5" SSD and an NVMe SSD when you're just gaming, so you might as well save $100.

@Cereal5

Thanks on the first build recommendation I might go with that I'm just trying to build a PC that will last a long time and i don't really want to go with a AMD build. Any idea what the XC means on the 2080. Also i might just replace the 2 TB hard drive with another 1 TB SSD but should i just go with one 2 TB SSD or two 1 Tb SSDs.
