anyways, nexus 5 is literally the best value currently, giving the best specs and it's cheap + developer support meaning that if you do custom roms, you will get TONS and I mean TONS of support for virtually every single custom rom that is based on AOSP and not aftermarket firmware

Ive had a N5 and a G2. The G2 blows it away. Mainly for the battery life, and i love the rear buttons :D

What's is the battery life compared to the N5.

On average i get 6 hours of screen time and about 17 hrs on per day. That is on a custom ROM and kernel. The nexus only gets about half that, it depends on your usage.

EDIT: you will also love, hate, or wont mind the back buttons...i personally love them.

If you want easy and quick Android updates, get the Nexus.
If you want expandability, go with the S4.
The size of these phones are practically identical. I ruled out the iPhone because of its screen size.

I'm enjoying my S4. I still have 4.2.2 at the moment. I had a 16GB micro sd card from adata that I had in my previous phone, but it takes up to 64GB.
The battery life is ok, but I got this to make it great: http://zerolemon.com/details.php/zerolemon-galaxy-s4-7500mah-extended-battery
Then 1 of these just to try: http://zerolemon.com/details.php/zerolemon-2x-galaxy-s4-3000mah-slim-battery-charger

The 7500mah battery lasts about two full days and the charger is good because the phone uses the smaller, much lighter batteries, that you can just keep swapping.

Dream-phone: USB type-c (3.1), 1440p, 5-inch, removable battery, 32gb RAMdrive, sd card slot, stock Android, transparent atomic purple build, 9050 mah battery, waterproof AF, nuclear powered, ac wifi is fine.
OR a one-of-a-kind iphone that runs Android.

android is no longer laggy... Kitkat is smooth as hell, and the whole android development community is brilliant to be part of :D

Edit: i also personally cant stand windows phone , the lumia devices look lovely, but the software ruins it for me :P

  • 2 weeks later...

If only the nexus 5 had  a removable battery and expandable storage, I would have voted for it. if you don't care for removable battery and expandable storage then go with the Nexus 5, if you do care then maybe look into getting the S4.
