Hello.

So this issue started a while ago, high CPU usage on WMI Provider host. I was able to remove it temporarily (couple days, or weeks maximum) using some advices I read on different websites, but then it was back after that. It got worse, now those methods do not work. I am looking for someone who could help me fix this issue. Sometimes it's so bad that it takes 10 seconds to open something. Sometimes it's better. I am using an i7 8700k, had them on fast tuning (4.7ghz) preset oc from motherboard bios, now I set all bios settings to default in hope that it will resolve the problem.

I was thinking also that it might be some hardware issue, but if task manager is correct, I doubt that. It has to be something with the CPU, the usage is abnormally high.

This WMI Provider Host always fluctuates, with just a few chrome tabs and battlenet opened, it jumps from 10% to 30% in seconds, then back to 15 and so on. Whenever I open something, this is what happens (picture below) it jumps to 40+ % which makes my CPU's total usage 99 and 100%.

Event viewer is full of errors. Idk what this means.

Here are my full specs:

-i7 8700k

-strix z370-f

-aorus 1080

-16gb ddr4 3200mhz

-kraken x62 cooler

-250gb ssd (windows and softwares)

-2tb hdd (movies and games)

-nzxt hue+

-nzxt rgb fans

Open Event Viewer ( Eventvwr.msc )

navigate to Applications and Service Logs\Microsoft\Windows\WMI-Activity\Operational.

There you will see a log,  look for errors and check which ClientProcessId/PID it related to.

Then use the Details tab in Task Manager to identify the app that is causing the issue

Yes I just edited my post before you wrote. I just found that one of those errors is Razer Synapse app, the other one is HWMonitor. What should I do next? They are functioning.

WMI Provider is back to normal now. It is only a matter of time when it will come back. What should I do with these apps that caused the error?
