Upgrade question

Cb2394

So, with the black Friday deals and price drops, is there any reason not to upgrade to a ryzen 7 1700x? I've been planning to go to a ryzen 5 1600 but I can get the 1700x dirt cheap right now. Building on this question, would my psu be sufficient or did I pull the trigger too soon on a good deal I saw for it?

My build:

Ryzen 3 1200

Gigabyte AB350 gaming 3 motherboard

8gb 2833 ram (2x4)

Zotac GTX 1060 6gb AMP!

Seasonic H12II 620w

1tb hd

250~gb ssd

Might as well. I don't really see any downside, especially since it'll only cost you about $50 once you factor in selling the 1600.

Thank you for confirmation, was worried I wasn't taking into account something that would make the 1600 a better move/kill the 1700x.

Might not resell the 1200, on the fence. The wife wants a light duty workstation for work/drawing and I think it might be a good fit. Solid CPU, don't get me wrong, but it's just this side of minimum/recommend specs for the games I'm playing, especially VR.
