So it's kind of a simple question. I'm wondering whether to just buy a new GPU for my current system or built my first computer (i've basically built one besides the CPU). Here's my current setup.

  • CPU
    AMD FX-6120
  • Motherboard
    Don't know
  • RAM
    Honestly don't care that much
  • GPU
    Asus GTX 560ti DirectCUII
  • Case
    Ultra Windowed Case
  • Storage
    1TB + 60GB SSD
  • PSU
    Corsair TX650
  • Display(s)
21.5 inch Dell, 2x Squarish Samsung
  • Cooling
    Stock Coolers
  • Keyboard
Cooler Master Quickfire TK Cherry MX Brown
  • Mouse
    HP MOUSE
  • Sound
Turtle Beach x12 + Crazy surround sound JVC and Bose speakers

Reasons I would want to build a new one:
  • Have never fully built a computer
  • Don't have the best CPU

Reasons to upgrade gpu

  • I don't know if it's worth buying a whole new system
  • I might not need anything more than 60 FPS on BF's or them other games (so a GTX 770 if upgrade or AMD equivalent)
  • Would save money
  • I probably need more VRAM for 3 monitors
I'd upgrade to something around 1,000-1,300 dollars. I'm currently at about 600ish (so this could be used for a GPU or something). Any recommendation would be good. Thanks.

Find out what motherboard you have.

A graphics card upgrade sounds good.

If you're gaming across 3 monitors, you'd definitely want at least a 290 or 780. If you're just gaming off of one and using the others for multitasking, treat it as if you were only using one monitor. Auxiliary displays use very few resources.

It would be an awesome experience to build your own PC. I recommend going for a fresh new start. I will make you a build on pcpartpicker.com with my suggestions.

Thanks, didn't know that.

This is what I came up with:

CPU:  Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($199.99 @ Microcenter)
Motherboard:  Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card:  MSI GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card  ($521.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $1279.89
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
