Hey everyone,

I'm planning on streaming a lot and therefore im upgrading my pc!

But I need some help on the components and internet speeds........

I already have:

Matx case

GTX 1060 6GB

Corsair CX450M

I still need:

Motherboard

Cpu

Ram

I was looking some options for a cpu, a i7 8700K which is over my budget, i5 8600K and a Ryzen 7 2700x. I'm wondering what cpu is best to take for streaming and gaming at the same time.

Also I need a "decent" motherboard that isn't that expensive since I don't need any extras. And of course some ram, I was thinking 16Gb would be enough.

Lastly I have the current internet speed: 250down and 20up, is that enough for me to stream in atleast 720p and don't disturd my little brother in his gaming sessions?

Thanks for the help!

streaming on twitch i'm guessing?

twitch's official guidelines only go up to 6Mbps, so you're more than good on that side.

mind dropping in which parts you already got to work with? maybe you can repurpose some of them for a dual-pc setup.

Don't think that will be an option since I own a broken motherboard and 8Gb ddr3 ram with a 250 watt power supply which is old and not modulair at all.

Also a i7 860 is on my shelf

put that cpu on your preferred second hand market, or turn it into a keychain.

on that note.. between the r7 2700x and i5 8600k the ryzen is the defenate winner for livestreaming purposes, because you can essentially (within reason) use as many cpu threads as there are available, so all of those cores get put to some use.

now, if i'd call that a winner overall, not quite sure on that, happen to have a budget and specific retailer in mind? i'll go see what i can piece together.

Let's say I'm taking the ryzen7 2700x (hopefully it will be on sale during black friday)

Haven't got a very strict budget but I think a motherboard around 100$ would be "okay"

Also, should I use the standard cooler?

All my retailers are dutch websites (Holland/Netherlands) just because your location is in belgium I'll list some sites below:

Coolblue.nl  Informatique.nl Megekko.nl Azerty.nl

not a fan of coolblue, i've heard some good word from azerty over there.

as for the cooler, i'm a fan of big tower coolers, but the stock one AMD provides should be at least "somewhat decent".

I’ll just stick to the stock cooler then.

What are your recommendations for motherboard and ram?

i'm not so well schooled in the best ram for ryzen, but you generally want to get higher speed ram, because infinity fabric in ryzen runs at ram clock speed.

and as for motherboard, whatever one fits your preferences.
