I formatted and installed clean windows 10 1809 before this time, windows 10 should download few updates, gpu driver and cpu driver before welcoming me to desktop screen. it should go from blurry screen to the resolution of the screen. it didn't happen on 1809 nor 1803 I went to a blurry desktop screen. I have to download nvidia driver manually.

do bad cmos battery cause this issue?

No. That would be an issue with the OS. Possibly it's ability to recognize the GPU/Display & native resolution. If it can't tell what it is it won't do it for you. Just download and install the driver and set the resolution yourself. It's not that much work.

Nha, the issue is with either:

  • Monitor not providing the correct specs to the graphics card (faulty monitor? faulty cable? using VGA or HDMI instead of DVI or DisplayPort)
  • Graphics card (not broken per se, but rather a design issue or firmware update needed)
  • Graphics card drivers

Windows just reports the info it gets from the graphics card drivers.

I am using DVI to DVI cable. high quality cable.
