Recover/format drive

So I just got five 3TB mechanical hard drives from my step dad. For some reason it asks for a password when I turn the computer on to gain access to any of the 3TB hard drives even though they aren't my main boot drive. If I hit enter 3 times, the system will skip that drive and go back to my boot drive and load windows. When I try to access the 3TB drive it says that it's not initialized and unallocated. I did some research and found that I need recover the information on the disk so I downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard and it's taking FOREVER! It's been 3 days and it hasn't even hit 1% yet. I've also tried for matting the drive but it takes just as long. Is there a quicker way to go about this? Thank you!
