So I've just recently got a job, which opens new avenues for pc upgrades.

The budget I had in mind was about 2k USD.

My current pc is:

FX 4300

RX 460

1tb HDD

8gn ddr3

I was thinking of rebuilding my pc, this being the build;

Ryzen 7 2700x

1tb m.2 ssd

Asus strix b450-f

RTX 2070

16gb ddr4 3200

2tb hdd

I'm currently not thinking of liquid cooling.

My pc is mainly going to be for gaming. Running stuff such as ArmA3, BO4, D2, etc.

If anyone has any tips or a better build suggestion, it would be much appreciated. This is going to be the first pc I have ever built, as my current is a prebuilt

What is your target refresh rate and resolution?

Get an ASRock X470 Fatal1ty Gaming K4 instead. You don't need a PCIe SSD if you're just gaming, get a SATA one, and get a used GTX 1080/Ti instead of a RTX 2070.

CPU: Intel Core i7-950 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R CPU Cooler: NZXT HAVIK 140 RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 (1x2GB), Crucial DDR3-1600 (2x4GB), Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 (1x4GB) GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU II 2GB SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" 1TB HDDs: WD Green 3.5" 1TB, WD Blue 3.5" 1TB PSU: Corsair AX860i & CableMod ModFlex Cables Case: Fractal Design Meshify C TG (White) Fans: 2x Dynamic X2 GP-12 Monitors: LG 24GL600F, Samsung S24D390 Keyboard: Logitech G710+ Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Mouse Pad: Steelseries QcK Audio: Bose SoundSport In-Ear Headphones

For that target a ryzen 2600x will do just fine coupled with a 1080/ti (if willing for used). Could last you 1-2 years for upcoming AAA games at the res and refresh rate too. While an m.2 is nice unless you get it on a sweet deal the sata will be just fine and cheaper. A 1070ti will be fine too if you want a warranty.

The reason why I say a 2600x vs a 2700x is because games won't utilize those extra cores just yet.

here ya go

2700 with aio for overclocking

500g ssd

take the hdd from your first build I dont see you needing more than 1.5 tb of memory anytime soon

upgraded gpu to 2080 cause you had room in your budget

added in a monitor that will actually be able to use gpu & cpu to its full potential
