Building my first pc... need help

Symbiode

So I'm building my first pc with a ryzen 5 1600 (or 2600 when it's in stock again) with a ASUS AORUS B450M motherboard. So it's 2018 and newer versions of cpu and motherboards are coming out. So my dad told me to make a system that will support newer cpus for a long time... at least 4-5 years. So the thing is.. ryzen 3rd gen is probably coming out some time soon. So newer cpus will probably come out before 2024-25. Is there any way to make a pc now that will support newer cpus for a long time? I've heard that updating you bios can help but is it true? And how long can I do this? I really don't wanna build a pc now and see newer parts coming out tomorrow. I want my pc to be decent for atleast 5 years.

Ryzen 3 will come next year, and it most likely support your motherboard. AMD promised the first gen motherboard will have cpu support till 2020.

I say go buy a 2600, it will still be decent for 5 years.

CPU has reach its maximum ceiling speed, the only way to have more performance is to add multiple cores.

And a 6 core will still be relevant 5 years later.

Aorus is Gigabyte, not Asus.

I don't think there's ever been a CPU socket that has supported a CPU for 5 years. You're still better off just getting Ryzen and upgrading as they come. 4th gen Ryzen will last a really long time probably.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Any brand new Ryzen 5/7 or Intel i5/i7 you purchase now will hold you over for the next 7 or 8 years I would imagine. There are still lots of PC's online that use the i7 2600k and AMD's FX series. If you want to go AMD I recommend a Zen+ cpu over Zen.

Intel Core i7 9700F / Cooler Master 212 Evo / GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER / 16 GB G.SKILL RAM @ 2666MHz / GA-B365M-DS3H / EVGA 500w PSU

HP Pavilion Gaming 15 / Ryzen 5 4600H / GeForce GTX 1050 / 8 GB @ 3200MHz
