Help installing 240mm aio water cooler

I'm fitting my first cpu water cooler. I got the PC built at a shop and now I want to fit a water cooler but don't know exactly how. I've watched a few YouTube videos so know how to fit the cooler, but my question is, do I need to remove the motherboard, or can I just remove the fan and install the water cooler?

My corsair h115i pro water cooler has a back plate that fixes to the back side of the motherboard. I got a z390-e asus board... I can't answer that question specifically because I don't know a lot about installing water coolers, but if you're worried about compatibility, check out pcpartpicker.com . You can also link what items you bought so that people can answer your computer related questions more easily.
