I have a late 2013 imac with thunderbolt 1 ( I think ) and was wondering if I bought a thunderbolt 1 to type c cable & used a ssd enclosure would it be faster than my internal 1tb HDD 5200rpm

Link to my imac - I have the baseline model

What would be the best solution to have a faster hard drive as my imac takes nearly 2 minutes to boot.

Thanks

Why not just use a USB3 SSD? Much cheaper and not that much slower in perceivable performance.
