Hey everyone.

Have a small issue with my just assembled rig, would appreciate any advice in how I may look into this other than just going and reinstalling Windows to do a more thorough inspection of what may be wrong.

So I put together the following thing:

CPU: Threadripper 1920x

Mobo: x399-e gaming

RAM: 4x16GB DDR4 G.Skill

SSDs: 1x 850 Samsung Evo 1TB, 1x 860 Samsung Evo 1TB, 2x 970 Samsung Evo 1TB (No RAIDs, using RaidXpert to control the arrays - Will probably see if I can drop this since I gave up on the RAID idea)

GPU: Asus 570x 3GB

PSU: HX750i

Extras: Also got a Corsair Commander Pro and respective fan hub controlling 5 fans and 4 led strips.

BIOS and drivers are the most up to date I could pull from Asus and AMD.

Not sure if there's anything else to add on this part.

The issue: So the real problem that I am having is that I intend to use this machine for a lab, running VMs in Hyper-V, and while the VMs themselves run quite snappy when I try to connect to them through the Hyper-V management window I get a few possible bad responses: Either it takes some 8~10 seconds for the window to show up, it does not show up at all, or it doesn't show on the taskbar but if I use ALT-Tab I eventually see the window there (and once selected first time it starts to show on the taskbar).

Additionally to this I did realize that occasionally, particularly if I switch between users, eventually when I try to open Firefox for example I get the same kind of delay starting up, although the application itself works just fine afterwards.

During this delay I don't see any particular high CPU usage, except if I start spam clicking on Hyper-V trying to connect to the machine.

Could anyone give me a suggestion of how I can try to troubleshoot this? Understand why these delays are happening and especially the response I'm getting on Hyper-V? I'd imagine (hope) Threadripper isn't the issue here, but I do have other machine that was filling this role so far and the response in Hyper-V was always near instant.

Appreciated for any help.
