i7-8700k overclock

hi guys. 

 

i just received my i7-8700k which i've put on an asrock z370 extreme4. ive been playing around with overclocking it and atm i am at 4,8ghz fiddling with the offset voltage mode since i see that being the recommended way of setting voltage as opposed to giving a fixed value. what im experiencing is very high temperatures, even though i put the offset value to 0, how can this be? i've pretty much only been running cinebench while watching temps and with a 4,8ghz oc @ 0 offset i get like 88 max degrees. it goes terribly wrong if i use aida64 where it can go up to the high 90's - but i've obviously stopped the test immediately when seeing those numbers. so what im curious is why are the temps so high when the offset is 0 shouldn't that just mean that the voltage remains at stock or what am i getting wrong here? its the first time i've been working with the offset, i've only overclocked a cpu once b4 with fixed values.

 

*i noticed entering 0 in value makes it go to setting the offset to auto, but entering 10 instead gives me pretty much same results* (which i suppose is a very small increase in voltage anyway?)*

Plus the 8700K is a hot chip anyways, especially before being delidded. It hit 85C in stress tests at stock speeds on a Cryorig H5 Universal.

Gotta love these people, makes a thread complaining his CPU is too hot, not once feels like saying what cooler he is using matters.
