Those are some pretty nice power supplies, both of them.
I don't know your computers specs but 650W should be more than enough for an average rig.

Edit: you should try seeing your worse case sceneario wattage usage with pcpartpicker, and counter in any upgrades you might make in the future

you already own all those parts?

If you want to upgrade your PSU better buy something like a bitfenix formula/whisper M or corsair RMx/RMi

Okay I am not an overclocking expert but I am pretty sure your psu will not affect an OC.

It will if you don't have enough power

You're good with 650

But still, does he need to buy a whole new psu just to overclock now??????? He already has a 500w

We still don't know bc 500W bronze says nothing, it could be either garbage or a decent PSU. And I think it's the former not the latter

Ah yes of course overclocking will bump up the wattage on your cpu.

Well since OP didn't list the model so it might be a craptastic bargain bin supply, GQ would be better than some 7 year old raidmax boi

80+ bronze means nothing, and good quality PSUs usually come with x50W capacities and 80+ gold or higher ratings so...

I meant that if it is a 500W 80+ bronze there's no way that it's so crappy OP has to spend 70 dollars to get a new one with no further reason at all except overclocking.

I mean your advice here has impact on if this guy thinks he has to spend 70 dollars on a psu I'd say he doesn't need.
