Limiting freesync for stability?

I'm planning on getting a 75hz freesync monitor for my AMD 580 4GB. If my fps hovers around 60, would it be better to cap the fps at 60 to keep a consistent framerate? Or does the fluctuating 50-70 fps not feel inconsistent. It may be simpler to always have 60 fps and 60hz no matter what instead of inconsistent hovering. It seems the fluctuating would make it less smooth. Thoughts?

Have freesync on. It will make fluctuations between ~48fps and 75fps unnoticable.

Its also helps lowering certain settings that have minimal visual impact.

Wouldn't having it limited to 60 make it even more consistent. If the fluctuations seem the same, would they seem like 48 or 75fps?

probably no, capping fps is always bad

not necessarily, but that's a topic for a different thread.

on topic: the idea of freesync is it gets rid of the preconceived issues in unstabile framerate, so in a sense with freesync enabled you're better off "letting it run free" so to say.

Would I benefit to limiting frames to 73 to always have freesync on?
