should performance be about the same with the 2400g?

Maybe ~10% more performance with the 7600K over the 2400G.

If you don't want/aren't using the iGPU in the 2400g, it might make sense to bump it up to a R5 1600 or an R5 2600

my opinion is worthless but i'm going to give it anyway because this is the internet

Ram Speed with Ryzen matters. go with something higher than 2400mhz (trust me, my ryzen 5 1600 got almost 100+ addon score in Cinchebench R15 (score of 1301 also with ram speed 3000 mhz))

Or wait for another ebay sale and snag the cheapest 1070ti you can find (That's legit, of course)

I got an MSI Aero 1070ti for $263 that was used but like new (no dust!), down from $309 regular price when they had the 15% off anything sale a few weeks ago.

This is only if you have the patience, though with the holiday season coming, I bet eBay will do something similar again!

Daily Driver: Asus ROG Flow X13 - 5900HS/3050 Ti

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - 5800X3D/RX 6950XT

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti

I have too many computers. List here.
