Mining coins

Go to solution Solved by DoubleY,

Yes, MH/s and KH/s are the same thing. MH/s for Bitcoin, KH/s for Litecoin.

I've been looking on 2 different pages trying to calculate the earnings of mining. (Litecoins)

This page says a gtx 780 (Yes I'm using a nvidia card, yes I know AMD is much better for mining) has 320-340 khash/s: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

This page says a 680 has 123 mhash/s: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Is this because I'm looking at bitcoin and litecoin? Or is mhash and khash the same?

Also, comparing a  780 to a 680 isn't that fair ;)

Yeah i know, but I was thinking that mhash was mega, and khash is kilo (which is probably true, but due it's currency it makes no difference), anyways I thought one page was showing like 180 mhash for one gpu, and 320000 mhash for the other gpu, That's where my question came from. This page shows a few mining 'devices': https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

There's this 'Block Erupter Sapphire' which mines 333 mhash/s, can i use the device for litecoin, or will this be useless?

No, sadly you can't use those for Litecoins. But, things like it are coming out Q2 or Q3 of this year.
