Help Cancer Research and Other By Doing Nothing????

Hey guys

 

So I was browsing through Reddit and I came across this thread, Which claims that you can help with noble causing like Cancer research and Alsimazs and so on by just giving them a little of your Pc's power, what do you think??? I have installed it and had it running on a 2013 Macbook Pro and still I am able to do the word processing and light gaming that I do on the laptop as normal.

sounds a little like folding@home. if you want to share some more resources, you should look into that

That indeed is what it is, I have installed it by following the information within the link and away it went. The task that i am looking to complete is going to take something like 3 days. I have no idea how it works, I can guess its something like cyrpto but I have no idea, maybe someone on here is much better qualified to under it.

Any help is good but your not likley to get many points from just a laptop, it will be much more efficient if you have somthing with a GPU such as a gaming PC.

I'm planning on getting some xeons and some R9 290s and fold on those. My friend has a place where he gets free power. (It's a self storage thing)
