Problems coming from graphics card?

Go to solution Solved by kristaps552,

When I try to do the command, it says only administrator can do it, which is odd because I'm the only account on this pc and I am administrator.

I am a bit noob on this. Whats a system restore?

Run CMD as an administrator. Right click on cmd and run as admin.

If you don't know what it is, then you probably haven't done it. What system restore does is, it Restores the system to the previous state, before any major change in the system file etc. has been made. e.g. drivers. You could try that and do a system restore from when everything was working ok, and possibly see what caused it.

I got my R9 270 about a week ago. When I first got it, it was working fine and was impressed with it. But within the past couple of days, I think the problems are coming from my graphics card. First issue I am having is I can't display the screensavers that come with windows 7. When I try, it just gives me this error message saying, "The screen saver cannot run because it requires a new video card or one thats compatible with Direct3D." I tried the Microsoft hotfix, but that didn't seem to help. My second problem is I can't play anygames. The only game that is working is Minecraft, but Garys Mod and GTA4 both aren't working, while they were working before. I updated the drivers too

Either windows, or graphics drivers, Almost sounds like the drivers have completely disappeared. Did you do a system restore before the problem occurred? Because that might've deleted the drivers...

Sounds like it could be a problem with Windows, rather than the graphics card. Have you tried running a system file check? Could be worth a shot.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
