Hello All!

I am using a iMac to do some folding using the Folding@Home Chrome Web version. When it is set to full, Everything works fine, but when I set it to Medium and Light, I hear a clicking sound, Multiple times a second.

Does anyone have any Advice?

Thanks

sounds like a fan which is clicking at lower RPM. Mine does a squeaking at low rpms.

To prove @FloRolfs theory try the program MacsFanControl (free small program) and do a sweep through the RPM Band with every fan in your Mac and listen. If the clicking appears, he is correct.

It could also be a electrical noise coming from the PSU under certain loads. But in general  is pretty good at avoiding electric noises...

Thanks Everyone!

I woke up this morning and checked on my iMac (I had it powered off Overnight). After opening chrome and the folding Web version and setting it to medium, There was nothing!

I spent about 5 minutes seeing if I could get my iMac to make the sound, Nothing!

I am going to leave my iMac folding today, and If I hear the sound again I will try @Metallus97's Idea!

Thanks Again!
