good price for a used GTX 1060 6gb?

so i literally JUST asked this question about the rx 580 4gb

 

however i got an answer saying something about getting 6 gb..

 

so how much is a fair price for used gtx 1060 6gb? $150-$200?

A 1060 6GB will cost a fair amount more than a 580 4GB.

 

Depending on where you live, a 580 8GB may be cheaper than a 1060 6GB and I would recommend the 580 8GB.

 

I've seen some used 1060 3GB for similar prices to RX 580 4GB and I've seen some 1060 6GB for similar prices to RX 580 8GB.

Depends on where you live, I'd say. I got a 470 4GB (effectively 570) for 120 euros, whereas 1060 3GB and 580 4GB start around 150 ish. Cheapest 580 8GB start at 170, with the 1060 at 175.

Yeah, thought I'd just give my 2 cents :P. But yeah, a 8GB 580 is definitly better than a 3GB 1060, hell even a standard 4GB model will be equally faster unless you run out of vram since the lower end model doesn't have less cores like the 1060.

My cousin was searching through facebook marketplace and found a evga 1060 6gb ftw brand new unopened for $160. Maybe you can look there? (btw he has opened and used it, benchmarks show same performance to legit ones so i’d assume it’s legit)

Personally I would jump on that deal, on ebay even the 1050ti costs around that much and a 1060 is quite a bit better than a 1050ti

Still though, if a 580 is 30 bucks less I'd go with it, considering it performs about equally to the 6GB (unless you're only playing games that perform better with nvidia or already have a gsync monitor :P).

He did jump on that deal, he needed to replace his gtx 660

Sure, it may not work though. He was buying from a miner who decided a 1060 was a good card for mining, and who desperately wanted to get rid of it.
