I have frame drops in games. Like it goes from around 70 - 90fps down to almost 15fps.

It has a i5 7300HQ Quad-Core 2.5GHz(3.5GHz boos), a GTX 1050ti 4GB GDDR5, 8GB DDR4 RAM on 2400Mhz (Single Channel), running on a SSD but it also has a HDD for mass storage.

So when I run WoW on full settings on the laptop monitor i gets frame drops, but on the external that's not the case. Although I have to close my laptop (don't use it as a 2nd monitor).

I was wondering if there's another way besides the external monitor (because it is my brother's, and he uses it for his PC) to get smooth frames all the time.

I've tried the option that the 1050ti is the main GPU in the Nvidia control panel, but same results.

I hope you understood all of this, english is not my native language.

Thanks in advance!

HP Pavilion 17 - ab306nm

Not a good model

Try undervolting CPU+GPU and disabling BD Prochot. May have throttling
