Possibly another "how hot thread"

Dttocs

So hope this is the correct place.

My system

Ryzen 1700x watercooled (single 120 rad)

16g G.skill trident z ram

Asus rogs strixs b350 itx motherboard

And was running a msi gtx1080 gaming x gpu

I just switched to a msi gtx1080ti gaming and done some overclocking for the first time.

Now winter (when I first built the system)the Temps were roughly

Cpu 56c

Gpu 63-66c  (gtx1080)

Room temp around 18-20c

Summer has hit fast and my 1080 was not hitting low 70s. Cpu mid 60s

Room temp 30c

The 1080ti is now sitting at 70c (55-60% fan speed)

Also cpu is 68-70c

I realise the bigger 1080 even running similar or less temps is still adding extra heat to the system .

I mentioned my cpu heat in a discord chat and was told it's to hot for constant gaming.

Everything I have read suggests otherwise.

These temps are while playing pubg with a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide

Gpu sitting around 98% utiliza

Your Discord chat was wrong then. 70C under max load for even a few hours a day won't kill your card. CPU temps are also decent (what cooler are you using?).

^^^ My i5 8600K hits over 80C under max load, and in gaming is still pretty hot, but it's fine. Ran my 980 Ti at 83C last summer too (was in a smaller case with one fan, and my room was hot), it has 0 issues. 85C is the "get worried about temps mark", and anything above 90 means you need to change stuff as soon as you can. Other than that, you're fine.

My GTX 970 ran at 87C under gaming load on hot days at stock speeds, so the OP's card should be fine.

Yep, only really need to worry if you're hitting those temps or 90+C under 24/7 load, say in a mining rig or something. If it's just in the summer during gaming sessions, you're fine.

Thanks for everyone's comments

I thought there was no issues but better to ask people with much more experience than myself  :)
