Chrome OS ??

Looking for a laptop that can do the basic things - youtube, notes, browsing etc, so I am looking for a sub 200 laptop, so which OS is the best for this use case cause the pricing for the low end windows laptop and chromebooks are basically the same

Chrome OS will run smoother on low end hardware.

 

Normally i wouldn't recommend chrome OS because there is always that one thing you need and can't get on chrome OS. 

 

But if you don't have another 100 lying around, go for a chrome laptop.

chromebooks are quite good for light work. If you are using office 365 it might be better to go for a windows laptop. If youre used to or are already using google system with documents and drive and all that. Theyre a great option. If you want i can help you find a good laptop for you.

I found a HP 11 inch chromebook for £130

It's not that bad but honestly the smaller screen could get on your nerves. Personally I would look at eBay and think about getting something like a Latitude E4310 or a Thinkpad T420, as those tend to be around the same price, though you may have to hunt for a while to get one in really good condition (if that matters to you as much as it did to me) and the lack of any solid state storage would be meh.
