Does my BIOS require update?

Go to solution Solved by PopsicleHustler,

If it boots - yes, drivers are fine. Otherwise there would be no display output.

So I guess you installed a ryzen 2xx chip in a older Bord?

Yes you can assume this.

BUT: I always recommend you to update the bios to the latest version to get the latest stability, compability and performace upgrades.

especially with older boards and newer cpus.

Its a fairly easy process and doesn’t take long.

Not much can go wrong.

Feel free to ask in case you need assistance

Yes it probably released before Ryzen 2nd gen, so would make it an "older board"?

In any case, I probably will go ahead and update bios soon. Thanks for the info.

Should have spoken in chipset names :D

Older: Chipset = X370 / B350 -> require update to work with Ryzen 2xx CPUs

Newer: Chipset = X470 / B450 work „out of the box“

Bur yeha in anny case a updated bios will never hurt and sometimes benefit you

My CPU is R3 2200G. I bought the MOBA last week and it's meant to be made in factory with latest BIOS. But I guess it depends how new the stock is.
