VPN in China

Hello! I`m going to china in few days and I`ve been looking for a way to bypass The Great Firewall for a while now and I din`t find any recent topics here.

Maybe somebody is been there recently or live there and give some recommendations.

Does PIA still work? I saw somewhere that Nord VPN still works after the 20th of July.

Or I have to buy VPS and setup shadowsocks? What would be the better provider then? Would like not to pay a fortune..
