NEW GPU Fails Under Load

ChromeMango
 Share

Specs:

i5-6500

Asus B250 M-A (Only some months new)

Patriot 8GB Ram

PSU is from some workstation, like 700w.

Phoenix Pro SSD

I bought a brand new EVGA GTX 1050 from amazon, (replacing my old HD 5970).

It just fails under load, sometimes even just browsing internet. I can't play games; I can't  run Kombustor (stress test it).

-The screen will cut to black or just lose signal.

-I've tried DDU a couple of times, reinstalling the drivers.

-I've even completely uninstalled windows and reinstalled it, resetting everything.

-I've ordered a replacement GPU and it does the same exact thing

-BIOS is updated (1205)

-Messing with the GPU clock settings doesn't do anything

Have you tested this graphics card in another system?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - dark mode Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

How many watts do I need? Seasonic Focus thread, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The display shows no signal. Computer is still on and fans spinning. It's like the drivers fail.

No, but I've gotten a replacement. This is my second new card. It did the same with my first card.

They might have just been lazy and sent back the first card. Have you tried taking the video cable out and putting it back in when this happens?
