Wireless network assistance

Hello,

 

I would appreciate some help with my home wireless network.

It's an apartment about 1300 sq. feet in size.

My home internet connection is a 1Gbps/100Mbps fiber optic.

The wireless router has been provided by my ISP and it's the Technicolor TG789VAC v2.

As can be seen in the attached drawing, my wireless router is sitting in the living room (the fiber optic port is located there so I can't relocate it).

As of now, for my desktop PCs (in rooms 2,3 and concrete room, which is a government requirement here to have in every apartment), I'm using MoCA adapters, which work great on my home cable infrastructure.

The issue comes up when I'm trying to use the WiFi from the hallway (orange area) and towards the rest of the rooms.

When entering the hallway clients will start dropping signal and in room 2 there is barely any connection at all.

The hallway is pretty narrow, and there is also (aside from the concrete wall on the right side of it, a lowered ceiling for the air conditioner.

 

As for solutions, I thought about buying a new wireless router (TP-Link Archer C9?) and using the provided Technicolor as a bridged modem, will that help?

You could use a powerline WiFi repeater to repeat the same network or buy a mesh router kit, they're probably your best options.

I have been using a mesh kit for about 3 months now, it works great.

What mesh kit would you recommend?
And also, where would you put the second one, assuming the first one has to be close to the router.

Most mesh sets come in sets of 3, so one close to the router, one close to the concrete room with a powerline as backbone and one in room one I would say

I would recommend Unifi LR , 1 AP in your hallway should cover all the rooms.

Meshed networks work if you cannot run cables, but decreases your network throughput.
