Need help with my installation of X72 AIO

In the picture, I know I need to take that 3- Pin Connector and connect to the 4-pin CPU_FAN connector on the motherboard. I have connected other cable like the fans, sata power cable and the usb cable.

However it will not post/start. Removing it will allow post but the fans is not turning. I have the user manual for my MOBO which is ROG Maximus X Hero so I am confident that I am connecting it in the right place. Could it be a wire default? Not sure what to do now, I'm stumped.

I have removed other components like my gpu and sound card. I know they work. Also using the Phanteks Evolv X FYI.

Try connecting it to the water pump header, most asuses motherboards have it.

stupid question but, are you plugging it into the right 3 of the 4 pins and the right direction? if you look at the header there is a "tab" protruding up next to the pins, those 2 notches on the cable slide around the sides of the tab.

Well I have tried connecting in different no. 3 as shown in the picture. And yes I am plugging it in the right direction coz of the 'tab'

You can plug the 3 pin into any 4 pin fan header.
The top left no. 3 would be best, but it doesn't have to go there.

What do you mean it doesn't post? Does it not turn on (no lights), or does it boot loop or something else?

Have you tried all the 4 pins?

Is there a certain connection on the AIO that stops the computer from posting?

It's not a race to the bottom.

That certain connection that stop the computer from posting is the 3pin. Without it I can turn on my computer just fine. I can go into bios.

Doesn't post meaning there's nothing on monitor. Won't even boot or go into bios. I have tried all different 4 pin fan header. The 4 pin fan header worked cause I have tried plugging in the case fan and they worked just fine.

So now I'm wondering if it really just a faulty wire. Do shops even sell these type?

Sounds like the 3 pin is faulty.
It should control just the fans, so one of them are faulty.
You could test this by either plugging the 3 pin into a 3 pin to molex connector which then plugs into the PSU,

Or just plugging in a different fan into the same 3 pin on the motherboard.

Once you've nailed it down you can either RMA the whole unit, or replace the fan with an aftermarket one.

It's not a race to the bottom.
