three audio devices and one computer.

so I have three audio devices my seinheiser HD 201s, my 2.1 speaker system, and my razer heasdset. but well I have only one PC for everything and I'm not a big fan of crawling under my desk. there is a headphone port on my 2.1 that I can use for my Seinheisers but do to the lack of mic not great for my razers can anyone help?

okay just not a super familiar with audio stuff.

 

Well, I could clarify and give you the exact situation for when a splitter would damage audio quality, but if you're using onboard and only 2 headphones it shouldn't be a problem.

You know about impedance mismatch and dampening factor?

 

When you connect two (or more) headphones in parallel, the overall impedance is half the sum total of the individual headphones. If the source's output impedance is too high, you get the same degradation you would with a single low impedance headphone. That's the real reason studio headphones have such high impedance.
