can you explain this to me please?

Your keyboard has a ribbon cable that attaches it to the logic board (often called motherboard, but this isn't always technically correct), and to attach to the board, it uses a connector that it slides into and locks it into place. If the connection isn't 100% solid, some keys might not work or the entire keyboard can malfunction. If the connector is to blame, you'll need to solder a new connector into place or find a replacement board.

Good morning ppl

keyboard : some keys are not working from time to time
i ve this problem also on my aw7r2 i have this couple years. i and numpad 2 most of the times they start working after some time. now these two stopped. bios, drivers, cleaning, reapply ribbons, battery out etc done. hardware test all good...
and i think this happened after the two bios upgrades. even with downgrade  aint working
i cant identify the problem.
i really need some advice, couple techs said buy new keyboard blablabla, only 1 said to check bios of keyboard since i and numpad 2 aint connected
thank you

If @ItsTheDuckAgain is right, then you have 2 possible causes:

1. The keyboard design on these models has a flaw that causes this behaviour

2. The keyboard connector on the logic board is the real culprit

1 sucks but is easy to solve, just buy another replacement keyboard and 2 would mean there's nothing you can do but replace the motherboard or resolder a new keyboard connector.

Couldn't tell ya. Look on eBay or find the corresponding Dell part number (you'll have to research that yourself).
