SSD not showing up (PC not detecting it)

I just built my new rig but the SSD does not show up in the bios or windows, and obviously I'd like to use it, so what do I do? (250GB WD Blue M.2 SSD) Windows 10 OS

So are you stating that you already have a boot drive with windows installed? If so you just need to clone your current os drive to your ssd almost all ssd manufacturers have software to do this

no I the ssd does not show up in my computer as in its not plugged in

Ok when you say it does not show up in windows are you looking in disk management and not seeing it?

it shows up now in disk management but its unallocated. Do I need to format it? and If so how?

Its black in disk management correct if so yes that is what is wrong it needs to be formatted click on it and pull down the menu

The drive shows up as Unallocated means it lost all the partitions. If this is correct, just right click the Unallocated space and create the new volume to use it again.

However, if you saved important data in the drive before this accident, you'd better recover data before making the new partition on it.
